Popular Screensavers™reduces stress

Tuesday, 24 April 2012, 16:43 | Category : Popular Screensavers | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : , ,

Getting a new job, moving to a new city, getting in a fight, missing a deadline, and overworking, are a few of the many reasons why we get stressed. I downloaded Popular Screensavers to find the most relaxing screensaver for my my new office computer and my new job. I tried to pick a screensaver that was tranquil so that I wouldn’t be stressed out when I looked at it.  I often rotate stress reducing screensavers. Recently, I downloaded pictures of stones. The stones reminds me of going to a spa. I have other stress reducing screensavers including, a beach, a sunset, and wishing pond.

People are always complimenting the background on my computer, so I tell them to download Popular Screensaver. Next thing you know the whole office was filled with beaches, mountains, sunsets and sunrises.

SmileyCreator™ is the best!

Thursday, 5 April 2012, 16:54 | Category : Smiley Creator | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

As my little sister gets older I talk to her more and more. She’s awesome. She’s gorgeous, and she’s a lot of fun.  She’s much younger than I am, so I definitely feel like she looks up to me. I hope that I’m setting a positive example.

The other day, I downloaded SmileyCreator, I thought my sister would like it, but I wanted to test it out for myself. I had so much fun custom designing smiley faces. SmileyCreator is awesome because you can ever post the smiley faces you create onto your facebook wall. I told my sister to download it – She thinks SmileyCreator is the best thing ever. She used SmileyCreator to design smiley faces portraying all of her best friends – Then she uploaded the smiley faces to facebook and tagged all of her friends.

I think it’s amazing how social media has affected the way we communicate with each other. You can be talking to your friends at all times and you can share fun creations like SmileyCreator in a matter of minutes – Amazing!

WeatherBlink™ for Warm Weather

Thursday, 22 March 2012, 16:21 | Category : WeatherBlink | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

I can not believe the amazing weather that we have had lately. The cherry blossom are in full bloom, the bars and restaurants are crowded with people, and the line for frozen yogurt is out the door and around the corner.

Although the weather is amazing, you need to make sure to layer. Sometimes you need a light jacket and sometimes you need a sleeveless shirt because the weather is so warm. Whether you need a jacket or not, leave the weather up to WeatherBlink.  WeatherBlink, gives you up-to-date weather information that will help you make those tough morning decisions.  Do I where a jacket? Should I bring an umbrella? Should I wear boots or flats? When the weather it this nice, you want to spend all of your time walking around, exercising, and relaxing.

This weekend I am looking forward to going to a roof-top birthday party and a Saturday afternoon barbeque.

FilmFanatic™ about Hugo

Monday, 12 March 2012, 18:43 | Category : FilmFanatic | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : , ,

After watching the Oscars a few weeks ago, I had to watch Hugo to see what all the fuss was about. So last weekend, I finally watched Hugo. I am FilmFanatic about Hugo. The movie was adorable. I was entirely engaged from the minute the movie started to the moment it ended.

The movie was directed by Martin Scorsese, who is known for making excellent movies. He takes a classic movie that takes place in the 1930′s and uses all modern digital tools to create a film that makes you feel like you are on a Universal Studio’s roller coaster.

An orphan, Hugo, lives in the walls of a train station, in 1930s Paris. Hugo is the behind-the-scenes clock master. He manages all of the clocks in the train station. Hugo then gets caught in a mystery that involves his late father and a robot.

Before watching the movie, I used FilmFanatic to learn more about the actors and the director, Scorsese. While watching the movie, I was able to pick-up small things that I probably wouldn’t have picked-up normally, like the amount of steam used in the movie. The steam was used to create drama, but also for awesome 3-D effects.

Expand your Vocabulary with Dictionary Boss™

Friday, 2 March 2012, 19:16 | Category : DictionaryBoss | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : , , ,

Whether you are pursing a career in journalism, advertising, communications, or something completely unrelated like, dance or surfing, expanding your vocabulary can help you increase your chances of excelling and growing in your career.

Using My DictionaryBoss Toolbar allows me research words when I don’t understand what the words mean or when I am searching for better words to use when I am writing or telling a story. Recently I decided “to go back to the basics” by building flashcards to help me broaden my vocabulary.  I realized that I didn’t want to be the person who always says “like and um” when I am telling a story.  I also wanted to use more creative words when writing e-mails to the people I am trying to impress.

A friend of mine is a part-time professional dancer and a part-time dance instructor.  As a professional dancers, her vocabulary is extremely important because she is always interviewing for new roles.  She also talks to reporters.  When I told her about DictionaryBoss she said she would give it a try.  Now she recommends DictionaryBoss to all of her students.  She tells them that in order to be successful, you need to be more than just a great dancer.

What Should you Watch on TV?

Wednesday, 22 February 2012, 20:08 | Category : TelevisionFanatic | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

What should you watch on TV?  I guess it depends on your personality and sense of humor.  If I had to put myself into a category, I would categorize myself as “a Seinfeld.”  Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows, and I think it describes my sense of humor.  I am drawn to the dry humor and sarcasm.  If someone is “a Seinfeld,” they probably enjoy watching Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm,  Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, and Flight of the Concords.

It’s okay put yourself into more than one category. For example, I’m a TelevisionFanatic about Gossip Girl.  Gossip Girl, is in a completely different category as Seinfeld.  A Gossip Girl lover might be categorized in what I define as “Vampire Diaries.”  The category “Vampire Diaries,” is any show that is “in style” and/or popular.   Vampire Diaries is popular because of the recent twilight movies.  People who like Vampire Diaries might also like Gossip Girl, Heart of Dixie, and Pretty Little Liars.

Other categories that I’ve defined, include, but are not limited to the , “it’s so fake, it’s real,” and the “International House Hunters.”  The “it’s so fake, it’s real,” category  might include, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, and Real Housewives (of whatever city/county).  The “International House Hunter,” will probably enjoy anything on HGTV, TLC, or the Food Network Channel.

New to Soccer with Soccerinferno™

Tuesday, 14 February 2012, 22:08 | Category : SoccerInferno | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : , ,

Last year, I decided to start playing soccer.   There is a soccer field right behind my house, so it was easy for me to sign up for a team.  I was new to soccer, and I wasn’t sure how I was going to play.  I have always been told that I’m naturally athletic, but no matter what, starting a new sport can be challenging.  I learned from playing sports such as, basketball, volleyball, and kickball that in  order to get better, you have to practice.

My first season wasn’t too bad.  I even scored a goal, which was awesome. I enjoyed the alternative form of exercise (compared to just going to the gym everyday).  I started becoming a huge soccer fan and found myself following the Women’s World Cup using Soccerinferno.  When I downloaded Soccerinferno, I thought it would be good tool for following the Women’s World Cup and then I would delete it afterward.  It turns out Soccerinferno is a great tool in general.  I can get FIFA updates and catch up on all soccer news.   I’m always interested in hearing about the World Cup 2014 in Brazil, and I enjoy learning about all of the different players.

Is it Spring Yet?

Wednesday, 8 February 2012, 19:25 | Category : Popular Screensavers | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

Is it spring yet?  Well, almost.  Some days it feels like spring, while other days it feels like winter.  In the meantime, I use Popular Screensavers to choice different season inspired backgrounds for my computer.

Today at work I made coffee for the first time.   I don’t drink a lot of coffee because coffee is bad for your body and bad for your teeth, but today, I needed the extra pick-me-up.   A co-worker helped me manuver my way around the kitchen and determine the right proportion of beans and water for the coffee.

When the weather is cold and wintry it is common to find yourself tired and/or craving warm drinks, such as, coffee or tea.  My favorite warm coffee drink in the winter is the Peppermint Mocha at Starbucks. According to the Washington Post, some regions are facing early spring weather, while other are buried deep wintery snow.

I just want mother nature to make up her mind.  Which is it, spring or winter?

Tell a Joke with Smiley Central™

Tuesday, 31 January 2012, 22:54 | Category : Smiley Central | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

My best friend and I are roommates, so we are  always writing e-mails, messaging, and talking on the phone.  Living with your best friend can be amazing. You can have so much fun living with your best friend because you always have someone to talk to, which is awesome, and I can talk to her about everything, which is also awesome.   However,  sometimes, when we chat, or when we e-mail each other, we misunderstand each other.  Just last week,  I was trying to tell my roommate a joke about my boyfriend’s cooking.  He burnt the chicken, (again) so I said, “I’ve had enough of his burnt chicken, and I’m done with him.”  She completely took what I said the wrong way and thought that I was actually mad at him.

I started brainstorming the different ways that we could solve our communication problem, and then I remembered using Smiley Central.  I had used Smiley Central before, but I completely forgot about it when I bought a new computer last month.  Maybe Smiley Central is just what I need to solve the problem with my roommate.  I told my roommates to download it.  Now when I tell her a joke, I can include a smiley to show that I’m just joking.

Booking a Trip to Florida with CursorMania™

Wednesday, 25 January 2012, 19:35 | Category : CursorMania | Posted by: Creative Raven | Tags : ,

Last week I booked a trip to Florida using my new palm tree cursor from CursorMania.  I leave next week and I will be gone for two weeks.  I’m looking forward to a relaxing vacation.  I can’t wait to get a suntan, watch the ocean waves, and kayak through the ocean canals.  My Aunt and Uncle live just a mile from the beach.  When I visit, we usually ride bikes, go for early morning walks, and shop at all the fun boardwalk stores.

I’m packing a lot of sunscreen because the last time I visited Florida, I got sunburned.  The sunburn hurt for days, so I’m not going to risk getting sunburned again.  This year, I will load up with sunscreen, sit in the sun, and hopefully get the golden brown tan I’ve always wanted.  The ocean is probably my favorite part about the beach.  The ocean is mysterious and the waves are tranquil.  I like to think about the different fish that live in the ocean.  Did you know that over 15,000 species are unidentified and that most of them live in the ocean?  Maybe someday I’ll grow up to be an oceanographer.

In the meantime, I’m sitting at my desk, at work, daydreaming about Florida.  Thanks to my new palm tree cursor, I can think about Florida all the time.  I wonder if CusorMania has a countdown cursor – I guess I’ll have to explore.
